CONGRATS to Brian on his first solo hit in Ireland this week with Real To Me. Today is a big day for our pal. Later this afternoon he'll know if the song has hit the Number One spot in the UK. It was looking good during the week, so no doubt he's got the champagne on ice. It's an amazing start to Brian's solo career and we're all delighted for him. He may not be a member of Westlife these day, but he's still a best mate.
We met up with Brian at 02 In The Park last weekend and what a day that was. If you were lucky enough to make the trip to the Phoneix Park then I'm sure you'll agree that it was an amazing atmosphere. For a start the sun came out like never before during the summer. It was sweltering and created a real party vibe. When we finally hit the stage, the sight that greeted us was amazing. There were 100,000 people having the party of a lifetime. As I promised last week, we decided to have a bit of fun on stage and went out in kilts while we performed the hits including an acoustic of Flying Without Wings and World Of Our Own. It was the biggest crowd we ever played to in Ireland and for us, it was totally unforgettable. I love getting home at every opportunity and it's even better when there's a big gig to play. My girlfriend Jodi came along for the craic and she's still raving about the Irish auidence.
We're itching to get our new album finished, so that we can't get back out there with lots more live performances. While we love working in the studio, there's nothing to beat the instant feedback that you get from a live audience.
